The world of magnetism is our home. Using a wide variety of raw materials, VAC composes more than 170 alloys with outstanding properties.  

In-depth material know-how paired with high application competence enables outstanding solutions, from semi-finished alloy products and parts to cores, inductive components, rare-earth permanent magnets and magnet systems.

 

 

By melting in vacuum we produce alloys of highest purity on the basis of Fe, Co and Ni. Our ability to tailor the composition and all further processing steps including specific heat treatments according to our proprietary know-how enables us to design alloys with unique properties for specific customer needs.

Our state of the art nanocrystalline alloys, such as VITROPERM® , are the benchmark material for magnetic shielding in wireless charging applications and various other EMC solutions.

VAC is one of the very few companies worldwide that have mastered the rapid solidification process where alloys are being produced as a thin strip to its final thickness of typically 14 to 20 μm. High purity raw materials are melted before being cast onto a cooled spinning copper wheel. At a cooling rate of 1 million Kelvin per second, the melt solidifies as an amorphous ribbon. A subsequent heat treatment at around 500- 600 °C transforms the initially amorphous microstructure of the tape into the nanocrystalline state.

Our magnets with the highest remanences add value to our customers solutions within various industries such as automotive, aerospace and marine. Cost-optimized solutions can be realized by applying Dy-diffusion.
