General Information
PCIM Europe is the international meeting point for power electronics and their applications. Every year more than 600 exhibitors from all over the world present the entire value chain of power electronics in Nuremberg: from the components up to control and packaging and finally the intelligent system. Among the current focus topics is mainly electromobility, which is becoming increasingly important as a field of application of power electronics. More than 10,000 highly specialized trade visitors from all fields of application of power electronics use this platform to inform themselves about current topics and trends in the industry as well as the latest product innovations, to find targeted products and solutions for the relevant professional experience and to network with colleagues.
What`s new? VAC Product Highlights
At this year's PCIM, we will be showcasing a number of innovative product highlights for high power charging, including nanocrystalline cores for solid-state transformers and differential current sensors for highest accuracy, as well as current transformers for metering applications that enable more accurate billing and come in smaller sizes.
32 A Current Transformers acc. to IEC 62053-21
Two new 32 Arms DC-immune CTs with integrated primary conductors for EV chargers with built-in smart meter function. Both are smaller than previous models, with improved linearity over the complete current range, resulting in precise measurement and easy calibration.
High-Current DI Sensors
Modern applications like central PV inverters, battery energy storage systems and DC charging stations often require permanent isolation monitoring. In grounded systems differential current (DI) sensors help achieve electrical safety. VAC introduces a new DI sensor for phase currents up to 500 A while offering a measurement accuracy of about 10 mA (after offset subtraction).
Flyback Transformer
Used in DC/DC and AC/DC converters, the FBT ensures galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary sides.
The VAC solution uses a nanocrystalline toroidal core with high saturation flux density and low permeability. The design allows to apply high voltages (up to 1 kV) while having a small size/ footprint and low weight. The transferable power is up to 20 W, which can be used to power MOS-FETs or other switches.
